Are odd sports counted the same as team sports by universities?

Question by Phate118: Are odd sports counted the same as team sports by universities?
I dont partake in team sports but i fly, SCUBA dive, kayak, ski, hike/backpack, and do conditioning. Will universities look at these as highly as being in varsity sport teams?

Some universities will look at it as better than varsity sports in their search for diversity./
